A friend at work wanted to take a trip to the Grand Canyon to hike the Lava Falls route from the North Rim to the river and back. So 3 of us drove 2 days down to Arizona hiked for 2 days and drove back. Thr first day we hike the Lava Falls route down and back. (3 hours to go 1.5 miles and down 2500 feet of elevation) we stayed for 3 hours swimming, watching rafters and exploring and than it took us 3 hours to hike out. The 2nd day we hike the Saddle Horse canyon trail to find Saddle Horse spring and later in the day hiked part of the Tukup up trail.
